Groundbreaking Ceremony - Community Plaza

An exciting new addition is in the works on 6th Street! Join us on Monday, May 20 at 10 a.m. as we officially break ground on the new Community Plaza (718 6th Street).

Texas City Economic Development Corporation said that, when complete, the facility will include an expanded food truck park with room for six permanent trucks, a splash pad, playground equipment for a range of children's age groups, a performance stage and a dog park.

Construction is expected to take approximately 12 months.

When it opens, the Community Plaza will be free to the public and open year-round, serving as an ideal location for concerts, food truck contests and other family-friendly events.
